In this months blog post our team wanted to highlight IATA's (International Air Transport Association) recently published revised version of Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR). This is the go-to manual for airlines, freight forwarders and shippers across the globe to ensure the safe transport of hazardous goods by air. Mandatory compliance with the revised version of IATA DGR starts on January 1st, 2021.

So What`s New in the 2021 IATA DGR (62nd Edition)?

  • Revises many of the IATA DGR Packing Instructions, including PI 965 and 970 for Lithium cells and batteries.

  • Revises the criteria for assigning personal goods to corrosives and mixtures.

  • Adds new special provisions to Section 4.4 and amended existing special provisions.
