Sending personal effects to Sri Lanka has never been more accessible and cost effective. We understand how important it is to you that your shipment arrive safely so we take time and care prepping your boxes for their voyage. That is why KMR offers a variety of options in getting your goods safely across the ocean with peace of mind.
With port-to-port services to Colombo, Batti and Kandy, our team of experts will provide comprehensive estimates for all your personal effects on site to recommend the most cost-effective packing and shipping solution for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide boxes or on-site packing?
KMR Global does not currently offer these services. However, you can purchase boxes from your nearest Home Depot or Storage facility.
How long will it take for my box to arrive?
Typically it takes about 3-4 months for the box to arrive from the shipment date. This is not only because ocean freight is a longer transit time, but international port delays vary greatly. Our team will send you a notification two weeks prior to the vessels arrival in Sri Lanka.
What does my payment cover?
Your payment covers the freight charges from Canada to Sri Lanka. It does not cover any customs charges that may be incurred at the Sri Lankan port.

What if I cannot drop off the box at your warehouse?
KMR offers pick-up services throughout the Greater Vancouver area for an additional charge. To arrange a pick-up, please call our office to schedule a convenient time with our team.
Please note that there are two pick-up options, and both require the box to be on a ground-level floor (no steps or stairs).

If the box weighs 70 lbs or less, you can select a one-person pick-up.

If the box weighs between 70 lbs and 120 lbs, either you must provide assistance, or if you're unable to help, you will need to select a two-person pick-up for an additional fee.

Boxes over 120 lbs require extra assistance, and additional charges will apply.
If no assistance is requested for a heavier box, a second person will be required for pick-up.
Please be aware that our drivers have the right to refuse pick-up based on weight or the presence of stairs. This policy ensures the safety of both your goods and our team. If a pick-up is declined for any of these reasons, you may still be charged for the attempted pick-up.
What size of a box can I send?
We accept boxes of all sizes, but the standard size is a 6 cubic foot box (24” x 28” x 24”). There is no weight restriction for drop-offs, but please note that additional charges apply if you overpack the box and the dimensions are not uniform.
The calculation for cubic feet is:
length(inches) × width(inches) × height(inches)

Kindly note that we accept any size boxes, preferably 6 CF. KMR Global team members reserve the right to refuse pick up or drop off due to poor packaging, over the weight limit (120 lbs+ in one person pickup), or the box not being located on the ground level. Refusal of services, or misinformation provided, could result in extra charges. Kindly note that prices are subject to change at anytime.

Drop off at KMR (No Weight Limit) = $16.70 per CF Minimum charge of $100/ 6 CF per box
Door Pick Up
Door Pick Up Less than 70lbs = Standard charge depending on your address
Door Pick Up 70lbs - 120lbs = Additional charges if no help provided to the driver.
Door Pick Up above 120lbs = Additional $1/lbs and might need two-person pickup.
